$11.4 Million To Provide Accommodation For People On The Central Coast Sleeping Rough

People sleeping rough on the Central Coast who have received accommodation and support through the NSW Government’s Together Home program will be helped into longer-term housing thanks to a more than $11.4 million partnership with Pacific Link Housing.

Parliamentary Secretary for the Central Coast Adam Crouch said the Together Home Transition program will fund Pacific Link Housing to deliver 25 social housing properties in the region.

“This transition program will assist our local Together Home tenants into longer-term social housing with wrap around supports,” Mr Crouch said.

“It builds on the work Pacific Link Housing, specialist homelessness services and the community are doing to prevent and respond to homelessness in our region by providing stability to help people get their lives back on track.”

Pacific Link Housing CEO Ian Lynch said the three projects combined are worth more than $11.4 million, including the NSW Government’s $4.9 million Together Home Transition program co-contribution, and will deliver 25 properties, including 17 social housing units.

“Not only will this supply accommodation for people in need, but it will also provide a welcome boost for the local economy,” Mr Lynch said.

Minister for Families and Communities and Minister for Disability Services Natasha Maclaren-Jones said the $122.1 million Together Home program is a nation-leading initiative that has already helped 728 people with housing needs and 870 with support services to transform their lives.

Of this, $35.5 million has been allocated for the delivery of 150 dwellings to address long term housing needs.

“In partnership with the community housing sector, this transition program will help more people break the cycle of homelessness for good,” Mrs Maclaren-Jones said.

The Together Home program was first rolled out in July 2020 and will support over 1,054 people sleeping rough into housing.
