Work is progressing on plans to upgrade intersections on Manns Road at West Gosford and Narara, with detailed design work nearing completion.

Federal Member for Robertson Lucy Wicks said the Australian and NSW Governments had committed $66 million to upgrade the Stockyard Place intersection at West Gosford and the Narara Creek Road intersection at Narara.

“This work will ensure safer journeys and reduced travel times for the 20,000 motorists who use this stretch of road each day,” Ms Wicks said.

“West Gosford and Narara is a high growth area of the Central Coast, where traffic volumes are forecast to increase to about 27,500 vehicles per day by 2039.

“Improving these intersections now accommodates for the future infrastructure needs of our region and ensures local drivers and the wider community can get around safely.”

Parliamentary Secretary for the Central Coast Adam Crouch said Manns Road forms an important link between the Pacific Highway and Central Coast Highway.

“The first stage of the Manns Road upgrade involves a range of improvements for these intersection and approach upgrades, including new traffic lanes and paths,” Mr Crouch said.

“These improvements will provide safer and smoother access to St Phillip’s Christian College and Glenvale School on Narara Creek Road, particularly during daily peak times around school drop-off and pick-up.

“An extra lane is also proposed on Manns Road at the Stockyard Place intersection which is anticipated to ease the pressure on southbound traffic.

“As part of the planning process, Transport for NSW is now consulting with business owners about proposed changes to parking in Stockyard Place which will make it easier for heavy vehicles to turn around.”

Construction is expected to begin in early 2023.
