Five new probationary constables will commence duties at the Brisbane Water Police District this week after attesting at a formal ceremony at the Goulburn Police Academy.

Class 368 is the largest intake of new recruits in years, reflecting a strong commitment to strengthening frontline policing across New South Wales.

Member for Terrigal Adam Crouch caught up with the new officers to officially welcome them to the region.

“Five fantastic Probationary Constables have been allocated to the Brisbane Water Police District and are ready to hit the ground running to serve and protect our community,” Mr Crouch said.

“Our local police do an outstanding job protecting the Central Coast, and the addition of these new probationary constables will provide a boost to police numbers across our region.

“It’s encouraging to see such a strong class of recruits coming through the Goulburn Police Academy, and I congratulate each of them for choosing a career dedicated to keeping our community safe.”

“Policing is a demanding but incredibly important profession, and these new officers should be proud of the commitment they have made to serve the people of New South Wales.”

The recruits have completed eight months of foundational training and will now begin 12 months of on-the-job training and study by distance education as they start their policing careers.
