Applications are now being accepted for the NSW Government’s Regional Sport Facility Fund to create new and upgrade existing sport facilities.

Parliamentary Secretary for the Central Coast and Member for Terrigal Adam Crouch said $25 million is available in 2020/21, with a further $25 million to be made available next financial year.

“The Central Coast is a sport-loving community and I want to ensure our region receives its fair share,” Mr Crouch said.

“Central Coast Council, State Sporting Organisations (SSOs) and local sport clubs are all eligible for this funding. I have already written to the Council and am also urging local clubs and organisations to take advantage of this fantastic opportunity.

“We know that investing in sports infrastructure is vital to improving the health and wellbeing of people, and that’s why the NSW Government has allocated $50 million over the next two years.

“Sports infrastructure also has the potential to boost construction jobs and stimulate our local economy as we work to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic.”

Acting Minister for Sport Geoff Lee said inclusive projects that encouraged the participation of females and people with a disability would be prioritised.

“I’m excited about the opportunities this will give to sports clubs and organisations throughout the Central Coast, to upgrade and build new facilities,” Dr Lee said.

“I’m especially passionate about the focus on increasing and improving change room facilities for girls and women so they have their own comfortable environment for playing sport and therefore stay playing sport.”

Applications close on 26 February 2021. For more information, go to: www.sport.nsw.gov.au/clubs/grants.
