Central Coast Projects Set To Benefit From Stronger Country Communities Funding

Three projects across the Central Coast will be delivered under the latest wave of Stronger Country Communities funding provided by the NSW Government.

Parliamentary Secretary for the Central Coast and Member for Terrigal Adam Crouch said projects like these built upon the NSW Government’s vision to help make regional NSW the best place to live, work and play.

“We’re going to see over $1.5 million invested across three projects which will include a new amenities block at Wamberal Beach and an inclusive and accessible play space for children aged zero to six at Kariong Childcare,” Mr Crouch said.

“Additionally, Niagara Park Stadium will receive $850,000 to upgrade their accessible pathway, driveway and entrance to the stadium. This will ensure that everyone across the Central including people with a disability or mobility aids and parents or carers with prams will have easy access to the stadium.

“This builds on the over $10 million this fund has already delivered for projects, stretching from one end of the Central Coast to the other, including an outdoor water park at the Peninsular Leisure Centre, upgrade to amenities at Adelaide Street Oval and a new community play space at Sun Valley Park.”

Deputy Premier and Minister for Regional NSW Paul Toole today announced that 435 projects across every single one of the state’s 93 regional Local Government Areas (LGAs) would receive funding under Stronger Country Communities Fund Round Four.

“About half of this latest $100 million round will deliver 189 female sporting projects, including the construction or upgrade of female change rooms, additional amenity blocks and bathrooms, and playing surfaces like netball and tennis courts.

“It will also deliver hundreds of projects that make everyday life in the regions easier, for things like new playgrounds, clubhouse, art gallery renovations, streetscape, accessibility, lighting upgrades and community programs.”

Central Coast Council Administrator Rik Hart said funding through this grant from the NSW Government will help in continuing to deliver facilities for our community.

“Support from the Stronger Country Communities Fund will help Central Coast Council continue to enhance the facilities which provide opportunities for connection between Central Coast community members of all abilities, ages and stages,” Mr Hart said.

“Ensuring our community has access to functional, accessible facilities which help to enhance quality of life, encourage active lifestyles and foster a sense of wellbeing among community members is of great importance to Central Coast Council.

“The Niagara Park Stadium, Wamberal Beach amenities block and Kariong Child Care Centre Playground upgrades demonstrate Council’s unwavering commitment to creating an accessible, inclusive and livable region.”

The Stronger Country Communities Fund is part of the $2 billion Regional Growth Fund, which alongside the $4.2 billion Snowy Hydro Legacy Fund is delivering infrastructure and programs that generate opportunities, investment and jobs.
