Every adult in NSW will receive a new $50 “Stay & Rediscover” voucher from the NSW Government, with tourism businesses and accommodation providers on the Central Coast set to significantly benefit.
Parliamentary Secretary for the Central Coast and Member for Terrigal Adam Crouch said the vouchers would be available through the Service NSW app in March 2022.
“When unlimited travel is allowed from 1 November onwards all tourism operators will experience a significant bounce. By providing these vouchers in March 2022 we will prolong the bumper summer season following a long winter in lockdown,” Mr Crouch said
“The vouchers can be spent on accommodation anywhere in NSW and given our proximity to Sydney, this means that many thousands of people will choose our region as their destination of choice.
“We have some of NSW’s best beaches and tourism attractions here on the Central Coast, and I am looking forward to seeing our local businesses come back with a bang.
“The “Dine and Discover” vouchers have already injected over $5 million into the Central Coast economy, which just goes to show the impact that NSW Government-funded stimulus is having.
“The NSW Government is committed to turbocharging the tourism economy and injecting confidence into these businesses as we begin the road to recovery.”
In addition to the $50 “Stay & Rediscover” vouchers, the NSW Government has today committed:
- $150 million to support the recovery of major event activity across the state including $50 million for a Regional Events Package to support major events, festivals, agricultural shows and community events across the regions,
- $60 million for an Aviation Attraction Fund to incentivise international airlines to re-commence flights to Sydney,
- $6 million to bring business events back to the city,
- $50 million for the CBDs Revitalisation Program to support events and activations in CBDs across Greater Sydney and surrounds,
- An Event Saver Fund to provide immediate support to organisers if events are cancelled or disrupted by any public health orders during the 2021-22 summer,
- $25 million for the Festival Relaunch package – to stabilise established commercial and not-for-profit festivals, big and small, so they can program with confidence into 2022/23, and
- $10 million for a Recovery Marketing Campaign including an extension of the successful roadtrips campaign launched in 2020.
