Small businesses on the Central Coast are being encouraged to sign up to receive a $1,500 rebate, which can be used to pay government fees and changes such as licences, rates and registration fees.

Parliamentary Secretary for the Central Coast and Member for Terrigal Adam Crouch said the rebate is targeted at small businesses, sole traders and non-profit organisations.

“There are 23,991 small businesses registered on the Central Coast and I want to ensure every single eligible business benefits from this opportunity,” Mr Crouch said.

“Any small business with wages below the new payroll tax threshold of $1.2 million, and with a turnover of at least $75,000 per year, can receive the rebate.

“Small businesses are the lifeblood of our economy and supporting them equals supporting local jobs. The NSW Government wants to help them not just keep their doors open, but to grow.”

Regional Director of Business NSW Central Coast Paula Martin encouraged all eligible businesses to apply through their Service NSW account.

“Small businesses are the backbone of the Central Coast economy and they need more support to run their business and get ahead,” Ms Martin said.

“We have many businesses, particularly in the hospitality and tourism industries, that have benefitted from a bumper summer but still need this support.”

The $1,500 rebate can be used for food authority licences, liquor licences, tradesperson licences, event fees, council rates, business vehicle registration fees and outdoor seating fees. The rebate will be available via Service NSW until 30 June 2022.
