Davistown Road is the only way in and out for the three villages, and the Avoca Drive and Davistown Road roundabout has become one of the biggest traffic bottlenecks on the three villages peninsula.

Member for Terrigal Adam Crouch met with the 3 Villages Community Group to see and hear firsthand about the growing delays which impact the community.

Mr Crouch said the intersection remained a significant bottleneck for residents, with traffic backed up almost 2 kilometres daily.

“Davistown Road is the only way in and out for the three villages, and congestion at this intersection continues to get worse, especially during peak times,” Mr Crouch said.

“Our region is expected to grow by more than 404,000 people by 2041. That means more cars on our roads, so we need to start planning solutions now.”

Taia Sansom, President of the 3 Villages Community Group, said the community was keen to see improvements to the current traffic flow.

“With almost 3,000 households across the villages of Yattalunga, Saratoga and Davistown, the pressure on the local road network during school-term mornings is significant,” Ms Sansom said.

“This ongoing issue clearly needs attention, and it really can’t wait ten or more years, which is what it will be with the lack of solutions.”

“The community is simply asking that the relevant authorities work with local residents to identify a practical, simple solution that will improve traffic flow at this roundabout.”

Mr Crouch said he was committed to addressing the issue and would raise the matter both in Parliament and with Transport for NSW’s Regional Director.

“It’s important we get the ball rolling and that’s why I am moving this importance Notice of Motion in Parliament, as well as raising this directly with Transport on behalf of our community,”

“Transport and the Minns Labor Government need to listen to our community and come up with a solution to alleviate this significant bottleneck in our community.”
