Future of Kincumber Ambulance Station in Limbo

While the Minns Labor Government has released a concept image for the long-awaited Lisarow Ambulance Station, serious questions remain about the future of the promised Kincumber Ambulance Station.

Member for Terrigal Adam Crouch said that two years after the government announced planning was underway for Kincumber, there is still no confirmed location, no design and no timeline for the new station.

“After two years, the Minns Labor Government has managed to produce a single concept design image for the Lisarow Ambulance Station, yet there is still no construction start date and no indication of when it will actually be completed,” Mr Crouch said.

“It’s the same story with Kincumber. The government still doesn’t know where the station will be, when it will be built, or when it will be operational, despite already recruiting paramedics for this ghost station.”

Mr Crouch said the lack of progress was frustrating for local paramedics and the wider community.

“If this is what the government calls progress, our paramedics and community have every right to be frustrated,” he said.

Paramedics recruited for the yet-to-be-built stations at Lisarow and Kincumber are currently operating out of existing facilities and, in many cases, are being diverted to Sydney instead of staying on the Central Coast.

“We have paramedics ready to work locally, but they’re being sent elsewhere because this government has failed to deliver the critical infrastructure our region needs,” Mr Crouch said.

“I will continue advocating for real delivery of these ambulance stations, particularly the long-promised but still missing Kincumber Ambulance Station.”
