The gates have opened for the first time for students at the new Porters Creek Public School for the start of Term 1 2022.

The new $38 million school delivers permanent learning spaces and facilities with 20 classrooms, an administration and staff building, a hall with Outside of School Hours Care facilities, a library with two special programs rooms, landscaped external play spaces and a mini sports field.

Parliamentary Secretary for the Central Coast and Member for Terrigal Adam Crouch said he was thrilled to be able to see the NSW Government delivering a new school for the Warnervale community.

“This school will accommodate up to 460 students with the added opportunity to allow for more as the population growth and future long-term expansions with the amazing core facilities catering for up to 1000 students,” Mr Crouch said.

“I have watched this school be built and I am so proud that Day 1 of Term 1 2022, the students, families and teachers will now be able to benefit from this state of the art facility.

The new facilities will incorporate flexible learning spaces with moveable furniture and adaptable room configurations. Additionally, learning programs will involve a close connection to Country where students will be given regular opportunities to explore their incredible natural surrounds through hands on learning and fieldwork experiences, including STEM and across all Key Learning Areas.

Minister for Education Sarah Mitchell said the NSW Government continues to deliver the largest investment in public education infrastructure in the history of NSW, with seven new, redeveloped and upgraded schools opening facilities for the first day of Term 1 2022.

“This year, we will continue to work hard to deliver the very best for our students,” Ms Mitchell said.

“I want all public school students in NSW to be inspired when they come to school and excited to engage in learning that is relevant to them and what they want to do after they finish school. Having access to modern learning facilities contributes to that.”
