Labor Obsessed With Rewriting History On Wyong Hospital Upgrade

Dec 1, 2025

Shadow Minister for the Central Coast Adam Crouch has slammed the Minns Labor Government for again taking credit for major infrastructure delivered and fully funded by the former Coalition Government, his time attempting to claim credit for the $200 million Wyong Hospital redevelopment.

Mr Crouch said the project was a direct result of the former Coalition Government’s long-term investment in Central Coast health infrastructure, not Labor’s.

“Yet again, we see the Minns Labor Government and local Labor MPs on the Central Coast trying to rewrite history by cutting ribbons on projects they did not fund, and in some cases, oppose,” Mr Crouch said.

“The Wyong Hospital redevelopment began in 2018 as part of our government’s record $11.9 billion investment in health infrastructure. Every stage of this project was planned and funded by the former Coalition Government.”

“In 2022, we broadened the scope of works to include a new Cancer Day Unit, state-of-the-art Palliative Care unit, comprehensive Women’s Centre clinics, an Aboriginal Health Unit and a Carer Support Unit, all now being falsely claimed by Labor.”

Mr Crouch said the Minns Government should focus less on photo opportunities and more on delivering for Central Coast families, who continue to fall short under Labor.

“Instead of turning up for a ribbon-cutting ceremony, local Labor Members should finally get to work and start delivering for the Coast, beginning with delivering on their broken promise of free parking at Gosford Hospital.”
