The NSW Government is inviting train customers and local residents to provide feedback on the proposed accessibility upgrades at Narara Station.
Parliamentary Secretary for the Central Coast and Member for Terrigal Adam Crouch said the upgrade is being delivered through the Transport Access Program, an initiative to deliver safe, modern and accessible public transport infrastructure.
“It’s important that all train customers can easily access Narara Station including people with a disability, limited mobility, parents and carers with prams and travellers with luggage,” Mr Crouch said.
“I am encouraging everyone to provide feedback on the “Review of Environmental Factors” document, which outlines the plans for the project, potential local impacts and how these will be managed.”
The proposed accessibility upgrade includes:
– two new lifts connecting the platforms to the existing footbridge,
– a new accessible parking space and kiss and ride space in both commuter car parks,
– a new accessible path from the station to Narara Valley Drive,
– formalised Boarding Assistance Zones on each platform,
– formalised pedestrian crossing across Narara Valley Drive, and
– relocation of the existing southbound bus stop on Narara Valley Drive.
The Review of Environmental Factors document is available for public comment from today until Wednesday, 19 August. Transport for NSW is facilitating public comment by email.
At the 2019 NSW Election, the NSW Government committed to install lifts at Tuggerah, Ourimbah, Lisarow, Niagara Park and Narara, as well as up to 220 car park spaces at Tuggerah. The upgrades at Ourimbah and Niagara Park have received planning approval and construction will begin soon. Planning is currently underway for the upgrades at Tuggerah and Lisarow.
