May 15, 2024

Member for Terrigal Adam Crouch has congratulated both Wamberal Surf Life Saving Club and MacMasters Beach Surf Life Savings on their grant applications to the Surf Club Facility Program following announcement of successful applicants for 2024.

MacMasters Beach Surf Life Saving Club received $30,583.64 for an upgrade to their solar system which will allow for environmentally sustainable power supply and battery storage, while Wamberal Surf Life Saving Club received $92,400 for the construction of an all-weather awning on the first floor of the Club.

“Congratulations to both MacMasters Beach and Wamberal Surf Clubs on receiving this much needed funding which I know will go a long way in supporting increased participation, facility usage and improved safety at the clubs.”

“Under the Surf Club Facility program, established by the former Liberal-National Government, surf clubs right across the Central Coast have reaped the benefits of millions of dollars in investment to improving their clubs and it’s great to see this continue for our local clubs.” said Mr Crouch.

Alison McNeill, President of the MacMasters Beach Surf Life Saving Club said the club was thrilled to have been successful in their grant application.

“The solar system upgrade will allow for an environmentally sustainable power supply and battery storage. It will be of benefit to our whole community as we can provide power during outages and allow cost savings to be used in surf lifesaving activities” said Ms McNeill.

Adam Phillips, President of the Wamberal Surf Life Saving Club said the grant will have a significant impact on the way we use the clubs deck area.

“It allows not only the patrol members, but members of the community to be able to come to the club and use the facility and be protected from the weather.” said Mr Phillips.
