Sanitisation kits are being rolled out to taxis, ride share and other point-to-point transport service providers on the Central Coast.

Parliamentary Secretary for the Central Coast and Member for Terrigal Adam Crouch said the kits would help to keep drivers and passengers COVID-safe.

“The school holidays are over, but we still need to do everything possible to keep drivers and passengers COVID-safe,” Mr Crouch said.

“The cases in northern NSW last month are a timely reminder that the fight against COVID-19 never takes a break.”

Mr Crouch said the sanitisation kits are available at West Gosford’s Sanitisation Station, where each taxi and rideshare vehicle is also eligible to receive two complimentary cleans.

“The sanitisation kit contains a large hand sanitiser bottle, a travel-size hand sanitiser, disinfectant wipes, disposable gloves and an information sheet on how to best clean a vehicle,” Mr Crouch said.

“Since commencing in July last year, 17 staff at the Sanitisation Station have worked for a total of 18,168 cleaning hours and cleaned 7,900 vehicles.

“More than 1,500 tubes of hand sanitizer and 250 sanitisation kits have already been provided to local taxi, Uber and other ride share vehicle operators.”

The Sanitisation Station is located at Central Coast Taxis, 7 Merinee Road, West Gosford. It operates from Monday to Saturday between 7am and 7pm.
