Final Call for Local Senior of the Year Awards

Jan 8, 2026

People in the Terrigal Electorate are being reminded that applications are closing soon for the NSW Seniors Festival Local Senior of the Year Awards.

Member for Terrigal Adam Crouch said the awards are a wonderful opportunity to recognise the outstanding contribution older people make to the local community.

“Our seniors play a vital role in making our community such a great place to live and enjoy,” Mr Crouch said.

“If you know a senior who goes above and beyond, whether it be through volunteering, innovation, or by supporting family, friends and neighbours, I encourage you to nominate them before applications close on Friday, January 16!”

Mr Crouch said the awards also help challenge negative stereotypes about ageing and highlight the ongoing impact seniors have in strengthening communities.

“We are incredibly fortunate to have so many seniors who generously give their time, energy and experience for the benefit of others,” he said.

“Recognising their efforts helps empower seniors and reinforces the important role they continue to play in our community.”
