Central Coast Project Set To Benefit From Stronger Country Communities Funding

A new community infrastructure space in Norah Head will be delivered under the fourth and final round of Stronger Country Communities funding provided by the NSW Government.

Parliamentary Secretary for the Central Coast and Member for Terrigal Adam Crouch said projects like Norah Head Community Hall is exactly why the Stronger Country Communities Fund exists.

“The current Norah Head Community Hall is used as an essential asset and meeting space for many throughout the community. Unfortunately, the current hall just isn’t to the standard our community deserves,” Mr Crouch said.

“Funding of $935,000 will provide residents around Norah Head with a brand new space that the whole community will be able to utilise. The funding will go towards a new building, updated parking, a new play area and greenspace.

“This builds on the over $11.5 million this fund has already delivered for projects, stretching from one end of the Central Coast to the other.”

Central Coast Council Administrator, Rik Hart said funding the redevelopment of the Norah Head Community Hall can reinvigorate a space loved by locals and visitors alike.

“Norah Head locals, visitors, community groups and associations who have loved the Norah Head Community Hall for many years will now be able to enjoy a brand new, accessible facility for many more years to come,” said Mr Hart.

“This funding will help Council to continue its commitment to providing valuable services that strengthen and support the Central Coast community.

“Thank you to the community members who shared their voices and have taken part in the consultation process. We look forward to continuing our engagement with the community to design and develop a facility that is fit for purpose and accessible to all.”

Ian McNaught, on behalf of Norah Head Lighthouse Reserve Land Manager Board welcomed the injection of funds by the NSW Government.

“Many of the 40 plus dedicated volunteers working on the Reserve either reside in or have close affiliations with Norah Head and I am sure all will be thrilled to learn that we will continue to have our Community Hall,” Mr McNaught said.
