Expressions of interest are finally being sought for new ambulance stations on the Central Coast, two years after the former Liberal-National Government announced funding in the 2022-23 NSW Budget.
Shadow Minister for the Central Coast Adam Crouch said that he had been repeatedly calling for the Minns Labor Government to deliver the remaining ambulance stations at Kincumber, Berkeley Vale and Lisarow which were announced by the former Liberal-National Government prior to the state election.
“The Minns Labor Government have finally listened to the Opposition’s calls for the delivery of these stations after the former government announced plans to build these new stations, along with the now operating Woy Woy Ambulance Station.”
“Our thriving region is the one of the fastest growing in NSW, and we need vital infrastructure projects like these delivered on time to support our region’s growth rather than face delays under Labor.”
“Paramedics have been left in limbo for over a year now and it’s ridiculous that the Central Coast has had to wait this long just for an expression of interest for these new stations, which noticeably does not include the proposed ambulance station in Lisarow.”
Mr Crouch said that in the time it had taken for the Minns Labor Government to announce expressions of interest for the new sites, the former Liberal-National Government had announced, funded, and built a brand-new station at Woy Woy.
“While the Minns Labor Government delayed the progression of these proposed stations, the former Liberal-National government got on with the job funding and delivering the Woy Woy Ambulance Station.”
“Ironically, the Labor Member for Gosford criticised the new Woy Woy Ambulance Station prior to construction but was the first one to cut the ribbon once all the heavy lifting had been done by the former government.” said Mr Crouch.
