Thousands of Central Coast businesses are eligible for a $10,000 one-off grant from the NSW Government, which aims to keep small businesses afloat through the COVID-19 crisis.
Parliamentary Secretary for the Central Coast and Member for Terrigal Adam Crouch said 701 local businesses had already applied.
“In the space of a few weeks we have received 701 applications through Service NSW, and 462 local businesses have already received a $10,000 payment,” Mr Crouch said.
“This is designed to be fast relief so that businesses can stay in business and keep people in jobs. The $10,000 payment can be used to cover bills like utilities, council rates, telecommunications bills, insurance payments, wages and more.
“There are hundreds more local businesses that are eligible and haven’t applied, and I want to make sure we provide this financial support to all eligible businesses who need it.”
Member of the Legislative Council Taylor Martin said it was the biggest small business support package in NSW history.
“The NSW Government has also provided a three month waiver of payroll tax for businesses with payrolls up to $10 million and deferred billions of dollars of payroll tax for businesses with payrolls above $10 million for the next six months to give them breathing room,” Mr Martin said.
“We are all in this together and the NSW Government wants to make sure that no business falls through the cracks at this difficult time.”
COVID-19 financial support from the NSW Government to businesses across the state now totals $9.4 billion.
