Five schools across the Terrigal Electorate have secured over $106,000 in funding through the NSW Government’s 2023-24 Community Building Partnership Program.
Member for Terrigal Adam Crouch MP said the funds would deliver welcome improvements to the schools which includes funding for upgrades to play equipment at Wamberal Public School and a sustainability garden at Empire Bay Public School.
“This is fantastic news for our community with five local schools receiving much-needed funding as part of the 2023-24 Community Building Partnership program.”
“Under Labor, we have seen school funding through the Resource Allocation Model go backward, and have seen confirmed cuts of nearly $150 million, which is why this CBP funding is absolutely vital for these schools.” he said.
“Funding streams like the Community Building Partnership grant allow our schools to get these costly but much needed upgrades done without having to source the funds from their existing budgets.”
“I want to congratulate the hardworking school staff and P&Cs for their success in their applications and I look forward to seeing how these projects progress.” said Mr Crouch.
The full list of successful school projects in the Terrigal electorate for the 2023-24 CBP round are:
- Avoca Beach Public School for the purchase and installation of two water bottle refill stations at both the junior and senior playgrounds
- Terrigal High School for the replacement of the school hall’s vision system
- Empire Bay Public School for the development of a sustainability garden with a worm farm, hand water pump and vegetable plots
- Erina Heights Public School for the installation of heating and cooling facilities within the school hall
- Wamberal Public School for the installation of brand-new permanent outdoor play equipment in the school playground.
