Fishing clubs and organisations across the Central Coast are encouraged to apply for a free Gone Fishing Weekend package to help host local fishing events on 17 and 18 October 2026.
Member for Terrigal Adam Crouch said the initiative was a great opportunity for clubs to welcome new participants, encourage families to get outdoors and celebrate the region’s strong recreational fishing culture.
“Gone Fishing Weekend is a fantastic opportunity to bring the community together and showcase the incredible fishing opportunities we have here on the Central Coast,” Mr Crouch said.
“Whether you’re a seasoned angler or casting a line for the first time, the weekend is all about getting outdoors, enjoying our local waterways and sharing the experience with family and friends.”
Fishing packages are available to help clubs run local activities such as learn-to-fish sessions, casting workshops and community information events.
The packages include rod and reel kits, giveaways and event resources to help clubs welcome new fishers and promote safe, family-friendly fishing.
“I encourage our local fishing clubs and organisations to take advantage of this opportunity to host an event and introduce more people fishing,” Mr Crouch said.
Applications for fishing packages close on 11 August 2026.
