Deep cleaning has been completed and Gorokan High School will be re-opened today, following a member of the school community testing positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday, 24 August.
Parliamentary Secretary for the Central Coast and Member for Terrigal Adam Crouch said the school has been thoroughly cleaned in accordance with strict NSW Health guidelines.
“Any child who is unable to learn from home is welcome to return to the school grounds however online learning is still being strongly encouraged,” Mr Crouch said.
“All students and staff identified as close contacts have been notified and directed to self-isolate for the required period.
“Approximately 20 students and staff were onsite at the same time as the person who returned a positive test.
“I want to thank the Gorokan High School principal Matthew Boake as well as teachers, staff, students and families for their understanding and for ensuring all advice from NSW Health is followed.”
